Our teacher is called Mr Joyce & our assistant is Mrs Workman.
It was great to do our numeracy lesson in the sun. We had to solve a number of capacity problems.
We got our hands (and classroom) very messy carrying out our digestion investigation. We then wrote the method for the experiment on the computer.
As part of our Shared Education Project, we have been looking at the importance of resilience. We made posters profiling some very brave and resilient people.
We virtually met up with our partner P6 class. We discussed how all our decisions have consequences - some good and some bad...
We have recently got loads of new spheros in school. We played lots of games with them that involved thinking about angles. We also wrote computer script to program the robots to move through cones.
We've been going Percentage crazy in Numeracy. We had to use all our knowledge to match up the percentages with their equivalent fractions and decimals.
Team Building exercises with IFA Coach Liam...
In our Human Body topic we investigated what is inside our blood, showing the various elements. We even made some cool labels to attach to the bottles.
We hope you like our doggy bone skeletons!
We worked together to place organs in the correct place. We then did some research to see if we were correct before having another go.
To see how our muscles work, we made models of the bones in the arm. We used elastic bands as the muscles and investigated their movements.
Our new topic is 'The Human Body'. We looked at the structure of a skeleton and then tried to build our own structures to hold a tennis ball skull!
In Numeracy we have been looking at angles. We played a game where we had to estimate and then accurately measure angle sizes.
This half term we're learning all about the Vikings. We've done lots of fun activities including investigating the Viking homelands using Google Maps; designing our own Viking villages; and even playing an ancient Viking board game called Hnefatafl.
We loved using IZAK-9 in the classroom to solve loads of tricky maths challenges.
Moneymore in the news
On Monday morning some mysterious objects were found in our playground. We became reporters for the week, exmaining the evidence, interviewing Mrs Cunningham and writing newsreports. The theories and ideas were flying!
Newspaper Scavenger Hunt
This month we have been looking at newspaper reports. We worked in groups to find the features of a newspaper and news report.
Playground Solar Systems
Our first topic in P6 is 'Earth and Space'. We went outside to make scale drawings of the planets in our solar system. Before we went out we had to do some pretty big calculations so that the solar system fitted into our playground!
