Religious Education
Non-denominational religious education will be available to all children based upon the Christian Religion.
In addition to many Bible based stories, children are given the opportunity to consider concepts such as
forgiveness, respect for others, charity and tolerance.
Children meet for Assemblies during the week, both in key stage groups and as a whole school. Ministers
and other members of the community are invited regularly to take to the whole school and individual
class groups.
As a school we support a Christian Charity – Kids 4 School and through our loose change collections
sponsor four children in Tanzania and have also helped to build a new classroom in a Tanzanian School.
On-Line Learning Programmes
Pupils in P4-7 participate in the Accelerated Reader Programme. They are assessed on-line three times
per year giving them a suitable level of books to read independently. Children can choose from a wide
variety of interesting and enjoyable books available in our school library. Children then complete quizzes
on each book read to assess their understanding and gain points. When their target has been reached
children are rewarded with fantastic prizes.
Seesaw
Each class in school uses ‘seesaw’, an app that allows teachers and pupils to record and share what’s
happening in the classroom. Seesaw is used to communicate messages, homework and other classwork.
It helps pupils learn how to use technology, be creative and stay connected.
